The King’s Festival

Once upon a time in the land of Winnebago, princes and princesses of all ages came from neighboring kingdoms to meet their favorite storybook characters who had come to life at Genesis Classical Academy on Saturday, Sept.26.
There were dragons, knights, mermaids, dwarves, animals, and horse-drawn carriages and one selfless, brave King who watched over them all.
Families in the area were able to purchase tickets to this grand event. The money raised during the event went towards scholarships for students at Genesis Academy.
Headmaster Renee Doyle shared the project was the brainchild of local singing quartet, FourEver Young, and with their leadership, this wonderland became a reality.
With this being the first-ever festival for the academy, it was said to have been a tremendous success.

Besides fun games, and meeting prince and princesses, the King’s Festival also had horse-drawn carriage rides, and a bountiful feast, complete with a cupcake castle.
Genesis Academy was able to raise close to $3,000 at the event.
Judy Ness, who helped with the King’s Festival, said she is continually humbled by the generosity from the surrounding community not only with their volunteerism, but their free-will donations.
“The money was not the main focus for this event, we just wanted to raise awareness for Genesis Academy and have a great activity for the entire family,” said Ness. “And I think we did just that.”
- A plethora of princes and princesses came out to Genesis Academy in support of their scholarship fundraiser. Some well known princesses included Snow?White, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and many others.
