I-90 semis go off-road in accident

By Staff | Mar 12, 2017

Two men with non-life-threatening injuries were transported to Blue Earth’s United Hospital District after a roadside collision between their semi-trailer trucks on Interstate 90 in Faribault County on Wednesday, March 8.

The crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. in Brush Creek Township, near mile marker 132 along I-90, and sparked a response from Minnesota State Patrol.

The Faribault County Sheriff’s Department was also on the scene after the collision, as was fire and ambulance service from both Frost and Bricelyn.

One of the drivers, a 49-year-old from Ocheyedan, Iowa, was west bound on I-90 when he collided with a semi parked on the shoulder of the road. A 46-year-old Minneapolis man had been driving the parked truck that was struck.

The crash is not to be confused with a collision of two trucks from a separate incident along I-90 that occurred the same day in Martin County.

That crash was a four-vehicle collision and resulted in one fatality.
