There was a Business Boom in Faribault County in 2022
After two years (2020 and 2021) of having the top story in Faribault County being the effects of putting up with the COVID-19 pandemic, it is time to have a good news story as the top story of the year for 2022.
Faribault County has been experiencing a business boom of sorts over the past year, and there were so many stories about new businesses in the Faribault County Register this past year that we developed a logo to use with each story.
The series started off in February with a story about a new bar in Winnebago called the Buzz Stop.
It continued in May with two stories, one about the Wild Soul Boutique and one about the Prevail Boutique, both in Blue Earth.
In June there was a story about a new business in Bricelyn, Von’s Household Goods and Computer Repair.
Other stories were about Mensing Construction in Blue Earth, Doggy Style and Design in Winnebago, both in July, and TNepp Metals in Winnebago and Ertman Truck Repair in Blue Earth, both in August.
In November we featured a story on the new bar in Delavan, the Blu Bair.
Perhaps the biggest story was the city of Winnebago purchasing the former UHD Clinic building on Main Street for $1, and then finding a tenant for the site, a new OPS Clinic.
Not all the new businesses featured in the Boom series were successful. Two stories in May featured the reopening of the Flip ‘N’ Shake and the opening of Jalepenos Mexican Restaurant, both in Winnebago. Unfortunately, Flip ‘N’ Shake ended up shutting down.
