Last Tuesday’s United South Central School Board meeting was superintendent Keith Fleming’s final board meeting.

Fleming announced his retirement more than a year ago after being hired as the USC superintendent in the summer of 2016.

Prior to coming to USC, he had served as the principal in the grades 6-12 building at the Southland School District.

“I served 27 years in education, all in administration,” Fleming said.

He and his wife plan to move closer to Minneapolis, perhaps to the Lonsdale area, to be closer to their two adult daughters.

“I have had the support of a great staff at USC and a School Board that really works well together,” Fleming added. “We still have a wonderful, newer facility and we continue to make progress in other areas. I was very impressed how we came through COVID together. I am very thankful for all of the support I have had during my time here.”
