Two employees at the Wells Dairy Queen were reported to have been terminated after they made an ice cream cake with a racist message in the frosting.

The owners and management of the Wells Dairy Queen location issued a statement stating that they do not support the actions of the two employees and hope the general public understands the incident does not reflect the owner’s personal or company values.

It is thought that the cake was custom ordered and was a type of ‘prom-posal.’

United South Central Schools superintendent Taylor Topinka was quoted in area media about the school’s handling of the incident. He made the following statement to the Faribault County Register:

“United South Central Schools is aware of a situation that happened outside of our school. As a school, we have completed some fact-finding and addressed this situation within the parameters of our district policies. Due to student data concerns, we are not able to speak to specifics on this and we remain committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all students.”
