Jordyn Kral is shown in this photo with many of the trophies she has won from around the area, in South Dakota and in other states. She has won first or second place several times at the many different competitions she has entered.

An area girl has competed in pedal pulls all around the region and now has won third place at Nationals.

Jordyn Kral, of rural Winnebago, who is seven years old, and a second grader at Blue Earth Area, started pedal pull competitions when she was five years old in local fairs and other competitions hosted by private companies.

Outgoing, and proud of her many trophies and medals, Jordyn loves every aspect of competing. From meeting other kids her age, to traveling and seeing new places, to working for the win.

Jordyn says she loves it when she has a faster pull and heavier pull load than the boys, and hears them say, “I can’t believe I got beat by a girl!”

In September, Jordyn won third place at Nationals at the Corn Palace in South Dakota, where she competed among 33 other kids her age who were at the same skill level as she is.

One of her favorite things about the visit, other than competing, was that she got to go to the Build-A-Bear store in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and build her own unique stuffed bear to bring home with her. She also made a stuffed Stitch toy, from the film series Lilo and Stitch.

Jordyn has placed first and second place many times, including first at State, here in Minnesota, where she proudly says, “the girls pulled more and faster than the boys.” It was on her fifth pull where she won first place at State this year, and pulled a distance of 35.3 feet.

When asked how she trains, Jordyn shrugged her shoulders and said “I don’t really train, I just ride my tractor,” which is a kid-sized John Deere tractor they keep at their home.

After competing at the pedal pull event at Farming of Yesteryear outside of Kiester this year, which Jordyn won, she has already qualified to go to the Minnesota State competition in 2025.

Jordyn also competed and won in Nashville in addition to regional events, and plans on another event in Amboy in 2025, with no signs of stopping.
