The Winnebago City Council held a Special City Council meeting on Thursday, May 21 to hold a closed session to continue discussion on a complaint of misconduct filed against Winnebago firefighter Bret Osborn.

The complaint against Osborn was first made known to the council at their meeting on April 19, where they entered a closed session to discuss the issue. Since then, there has been another closed session at their May 12 City Council meeting, at which point the council opted to schedule the Special City Council meeting for May 21.

After the meeting was reopened to the public, mayor Jean Anderson provided a debrief on what was discussed during the closed session. Several involved parties were called into the session to discuss the complaint of misconduct, and Osborn was present at the closed session to provide his own perspective.

Following the debrief, a motion was made and seconded to resolve the complaint, and take no further action on the matter. The motion passed unanimously. No other business was discussed at the meeting.
