Bertha E. Beem, 99

Blue Earth — Bertha E. Beem, age 99, of Blue Earth, died Jan. 22, 2008, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Memorial services were held on Jan. 25, 2008, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth, with Rev. Ron Jobe and Rev. Vic Vriesen officiating. Burial was in Spirit Hill Cemetery, Jordan. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 17, 1908, at Jordan, the daughter of Peter and Bertha (Janz) Wieben.

She was raised in the Jordan area and was married to William F. Gerres on Feb. 22, 1930. The couple farmed in the Lydia area and later in the New Prague and Henderson areas. Bertha was later married to W. Murl Beem on June 20, 1960 and the couple lived in Buffalo Lake. Bertha was a homemaker and had done cleaning at area homes and businesses through the years. Bertha moved to the Blue Earth area in the mid 1990’s where she was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth and later the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Winnebago.

Bertha is survived by her daughters; Delores Huber of Elmore, and Dorothy (David) Lilygren of Luck, Wis., six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, William Gerres in 1968, husband Murl Beem in 1997, an infant sister and three other sisters: Annabelle Licha, Dorothy Parrish and Mary Gerres, a brother-in-law, Matt Gerres and a son-in-law, Larry Huber.
