Ruberta B. Hinrichsen, 85
Rapid City, S.D. — Funeral service for Ruberta B. Hinrichsen, 85, of Rapid City, formerly of Fairmont was held on Jan. 25, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
Ruberta passed away Monday evening, Jan. 21, 2008 in Rapid City.
Ruberta B. Hooper was born on May 14, 1922 in Runnells, Iowa, the daughter of Worth and Bertha (Marsh) Hooper and was raised on a farm with three brothers and one sister. She was united in marriage to Milden Hinrichsen on Easter Sunday, April 25, 1942 in Lawton, Okla., where Milden was stationed during World War II. Following the war, they farmed in the Blue Earth area. Later they moved to Fairmont and owned and operated Hinrichsen & Sons Welding and Busy Bee Ceramics until their retirement. Through the years, Ruberta served on many boards, charities and committees. She gave of her time, talent and loved to serve. Her courage and spirit during her illness gave us all strength and helped us let her go. Ruberta fought a good fight and we are better because she was part of us.
She is survived by one daughter, Pam (Ken) Edel of Rapid City; two sons, Dan (Diane) Hinrichsen of Pequot Lakes, Hans (Cindy) Hinrichsen of Fairmont; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and her faithful companion, “Sugar Baby”; other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruberta was preceded in death by her husband, Milden; three brothers, Carol, Clyde and Worth Hooper; and one sister, Geraldene.
