Harlan F. Babcock, 83
Bigfork — Funeral services were held for Harlan F. Babcock, age 83 of Bigfork, formerly of Winnebago.
Harlan F. Babcock was born to M. H. and Florence Babcock. He was educated in the Winnebago schools, graduating in 1942. He was in the Navy, serving in the South Pacific from 1943-1946.
In 1946, Harlan married Betty Ruth Hatcher. They were blessed with three children, David, Jon and Brenda.
He was a partner in Winnebago Lumber Co. and Harlan’s Construction Co. for 13 years.
He went to college at the University of Dubuque, Upper Iowa University, and Drake University. He was a graduate of Drake Seminary and ordained into the United Methodist Church.
Harlan served United Methodist Churches in Iowa for 28 years. He then retired to Northern Minnesota to be near his family and fishing.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, three children and four grandchildren and one brother, Dick.
He was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Lions Club and the United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and one sister, Loiy.
