Betty L. Meyer, 68

Blue Earth — Betty L. Meyer, age 68, of Blue Earth, died Feb. 16, 2008, at her home in Blue Earth. Funeral services were held Feb. 20, 2008, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Burial was in Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard, Iowa. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Betty was born July 10, 1939, in Winnebago, the daughter of Jerry and Cecile (Goodrich) Barnes. She was raised in the Blue Earth area where she attended Blue Earth High School. She had worked at various area businesses following school before becoming self employed, over the road, truck driver. She drove for several years before starting to work for Telex Inc. in the mid 1960’s. She worked at Telex for over 34 years where she was a supervisor. She retired in 2001. Betty had worked at the American Legion Club, selling pull tabs and was a member of the Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Fairmont Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Betty enjoyed camping, fishing, watching birds and taking in stray animals. She especially enjoyed family reunions and spending time with her close friends and family; this was her top priority.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Leslie Meyer and significant other Shawn Cox of Blue Earth, granddaughter, Tessa Cox of Blue Earth, sister, Beverly Busch of Swea City, Iowa, two nieces and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and a brother-in-law.
