Omer K. Murray, 95

Blue Earth — Omer K. Murray, age 95, of Blue Earth died Feb. 6, 2008, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care in Fairmont.

Graveside Services will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth, with Rev. Lora Sturm officiating. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Blue Earth is in charge of arrangements.

He was born June 11, 1912, at Dixon, Ill., the son of Frank Murray and Winifred Wadsworth. He then moved to Marna and attended a one room school and graduated from Blue Earth High School in 1929. Omer began working for the Standard Oil Co. in 1933. On Dec. 28, 1938 he married Una Clara Petersen in Clarks Grove. In 1950 they adopted a son Stephen, and in 1953 adopted a daughter Ona, both from the Children’s Home Society in St. Paul. Omer continued to work for Standard Oil until retiring in 1974. On April 1, 2003 Una passed away from heart failure after 65 years of wonderful marriage.

Omer will be greatly missed by his daughter, Ona Springer of Fairmont, his son, Stephen Murray of San Francisco, Calif., his granddaughters, Stacy (Tim) Pytleski of Elmore, Laura (Trevor) Domek of Lonsdale, two great grandchildren, Logan and Kenlie Pytleski.
