Marlene Hiller, 74
Blue Earth — Marlene Hiller, age 74, of Blue Earth, passed away on Feb. 25, at Immanuel St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Her funeral ceremony was Feb. 29, 2008 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth with Pastor Ron Jobe. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. Winter Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
Marlene Marie Hiller was born on Sept. 7, 1933 to Carl and Mary (Linnemeyer) Jensen on a farm in Rolling Green Township. Marlene’s family moved to several different farms while Marlene was growing up. Prior to marriage, Marlene lived in St. Peter and worked at several places including Finger Hut and Spors.
Marlene married William Hiller on Aug. 8, 1970 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth. Following their marriage, Marlene and William Hiller remained in the Blue Earth area. Together, they formed Marbil Collectibles and enjoyed displaying their collectibles at nearby markets.
Marlene was very proud of her family and loved them dearly. Marlene loved the outdoors, gardening, traveling, and flea markets. Among her travels was a trip to Europe.
Marlene is survived by four children: Tammy (Todd) Murray of Naples, Fla.; Kevin (Miriam) Hiller of Blue Earth; Ed (Angi) Hiller of Mankato; Julie (Steve) Lobb of Kasota; stepchildren: Penny (Bob) Russell of Pueblo, Colo.; and Dan (Wendy) Hiller of Dexter, Ore.; sister Ellen Odom of Austin, Texas; sister-in-law Elaine Jensen of Mankato; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Bill; her parents; three brothers: Wilbur, Orville and George; sister Irene; and granddaughter Stephanie.
