Russell R. Babcock, 87

Winnebago — Russell R. Babcock, age 87, of Winnebago, died March 7, 2008, at Parker-Oaks in Winnebago.

Funeral services to be held at a later date. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 25, 1920, at Broken Bow, Neb. On Sept. 25, 1941 he married Rella Grubaugh at Columbus, Neb. They farmed in Nebraska until moving to Winnebago in 1956. Russ worked as a Mechanic for Winnebago Implement and Auto, for 30 years and retired in 1986. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and dancing.

He is survived by his wife: Rella Babcock of Winnebago, daughter: Karen (Jerry) Cyphers of Winnebago, son: Ken (Bonnie) Babcock of Delavan, nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
