Merle A. “Molly” Hynes, 90
Winnebago — Merle A. “Molly” Hynes, age 90, of Winnebago, died April 16, 2008, at his home in Winnebago.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago, with Rev. Lora Sturm officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winnebago with Military Honors. Visitation time was 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago and one hour prior to services on Monday.
He was born Nov. 6, 1917, at Winnebago, the son of Archie and Mary (Humphrey) Hynes.
He was a graduate of Winnebago High School in 1936. From 1942-46 he served with the Army Air Force during WWII. On Nov. 5, 1949 he married Mary Elizabeth Wyland at Waverly, Iowa. Molly was a carpenter and worked for the State of Minnesota until retiring in 1983. Mrs. Hynes preceded him in death in 1999.
Molly was a devoted father and family man. He was a past member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his daughters: Susan Hynes of Mankato, Lana Hynes of Winnebago, sons: Roger (Nancy) Hynes of Alma, Mich., Tim (Judi) Hynes of Winnebago, six grandchildren, sister: Helen Hill of Mission Viejo, Calif.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
