Thelma Anderson, 83
Blue Earth — Thelma Anderson, age 83, of Blue Earth, died April 14, 2008, at United Hospital, Blue Earth. Funeral services were held April 17, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Stephen Bohling and Rev. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
She was born July 31, 1924, at rural Faribault County, the daughter of Torvald and Olphina (Hendrickson) Soma. She attended rural Faribault County Schools where she graduated from High School. She was married to Bernard L. Anderson on Nov. 12, 1942 in Grant City, Mo. Thelma had worked for a canning factory in Albert Lea and drove a truck for a tile factory before beginning to work at the Blue Earth hospital in 1959. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked nights at the hospital for 47 years, retiring at the age of 80. Thelma was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in church circle and taught Sunday School. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Anderson of Buffalo Center, her two grandchildren, Blaine and Becca Anderson and one great grandson, Jace Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter in 1946, husband – Bernard in 1962, her step-father, Hallet Dobson and two brothers, Severa “Benny” and Omar Soma.
