Neil Gordon Larson, 77

Albert Lea — Memorial services for Neil Gordon Larson, age 77, of Albert Lea will be held Monday, April 28, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Chapelin, Albert Lea. Rev. Kent Otterman will officiate. Military Honors will be accorded by the Freeborn County Veterans organizations. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Neil died April 22, 2008 at his home in Albert Lea.

Neil Gordon Larson was born on Jan. 3, 1931 to Cleon and Sarah (Haugen) Larson. He grew up in Rake, Iowa and went to school there. Neil entered the United States Army in the late 40’s and served in the Korean Conflict. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal and two Bronze Service Stars. Following his discharge from the service, Neil moved to Alden and worked as a mechanic. He later moved to Albert Lea where he worked for ALMCO as a machinist. Neil retired in the early 1990’s. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Survivors include his brother, Curtis (Sharon) Larson of Gore, Okla.; sisters, Sandra Shure of Blue Earth and Delores (Lloyd) Kraushaar of Albert Lea; several nieces and nephews.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Wayne Larson.
