Dayton Sutton Miller, 85
Dubuque, Iowa — Dayton Sutton Miller, age 85, died April 28, 2008 at his home in Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral services were held May 2, 2008 at Grand View Methodist Church in Dubuque with Military rites accorded by the American Legion Post #6 of Dubuque. Burial will be in Bass Lake Cemetery, Winnebago. Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home of Dubuque was in charge of arrangements.
Dayton was born Jan. 14, 1923 in Winnebago, the son of Hugh and Beatrice (Sutton) Miller.
Dayton was married to Lois Sparks on June 5, 1946 in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was employed as a mechanic at Power Lawn and Garden Co. for twenty years retiring in 1985. Dayton served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of Grand View Methodist Church and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of Winnebago.
Survivors include his wife Lois and four children, Arden (Diane) Miller of Waterloo, Iowa, Debbie Miller of Waterville, Polly Traynor of Rochester, and Kent (Cindy) Miller of Anamosa, Iowa; nine grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Frederick, Jaime (Joel) Gelner, Matthew Miller, Beau (Jenny) Hullermann, Brooke (Scott) Hullermann, Thomas Traynor, Joshua, Kelly, and Stuart Miller; eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter: Connie, and son: Jeffry.
