Clara F. Miller, 98
Buffalo Center, Iowa — Clara Frances Miller, age 98, of Buffalo Center, formerly of Winnebago died May 11, 2008, at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.
Funeral services were held May 15, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Michael Roys officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery , Winnebago.
Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago in charge of arrangements.
She was born Sept. 28, 1909, in Sterling Township, Blue Earth County, the daughter of George M. and Esther C. (Leroy) Langworthy.
She attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Amboy High School. On Sept. 30, 1930, she was united in marriage to Willie A. Miller at Mankato. They lived and farmed near Delavan most of their married life. After retirement in 1979 they moved to Winnebago. Willie preceded her in death on April 9, 1988. Throughout the years they both enjoyed the many visits from their children and grandchildren. After Willie’s death, Clara looked forward to Sunday evenings when her family would gather at her home for pot luck supper. She entered Parker-Oaks in June of 2002 and transferred to Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center in September of 2002. She belonged to the garden club, an extension group and the women’s church circles. She was a member of the Delavan United Methodist Church for many years and later the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago.
She is survived by her son: George (Marilyn) Miller of Wells, daughters: Joyce (Herbert) Knight of Winnebago, Elizabeth (Lincoln) Cramer of St. Peter, Beverly Heyes of Buffalo Center, Marilyn (Ronald) Stensland of Blue Earth, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Mary Langworthy of Mapleton, Gladys Miller of Winnebago, many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law (Marvin Heyes), four sisters and four brothers.
