Ardelle L. Benschoter, 81
Winnebago — Ardelle L. Benschoter, age 81, of Winnebago, died May 17, 2008, at Parker Oaks, Winnebago. Funeral services were held May 20, 2008, at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Winnebago, with Rev. Ron Jobe officiating. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery, Winnebago. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago assisted the family with the arrangements.
Ardelle was born on May 6, 1927, in Amboy, the daughter of Wilhelm and Minnie (Black) Urban. She was baptized on May 22, 1927, at St. John Lutheran Church at Willow Creek and was later confirmed there on April 6, 1941. She was married to Harry Rehbein on June 22, 1946, they had two children – Sharon and Dennis. They were later divorced and she was remarried to Merle Benschoter on June 30, 1951. The couple moved to Winnebago where she worked as a waitress at various restaurants and Super Valu as a checker. She retired from Blue Earth Valley Telephone Company in 1992. She was an avid bowler for many years, was a longtime member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, loved playing cards, volunteering at Parker Oaks and with meals on wheels, was a loyal Minnesota Twins Fan and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Maynard) Bowman of Mounds View, sons, Dennis (Sue) Rehbein of Oakdale, Mark (Kathy) Benschoter of Twin Lakes, Dean (Paula) Benschoter of Albert Lea, James (Sue) Benschoter of Winnebago, Gary (Beverly) Benschoter of Chula Vista, Calif., brother, Mervin Urban of Amboy, former daughter-in-law, Teresa Benschoter of Greeley, Colo., 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a sister – Irma Davis.
