Elmore — A funeral Mass for Edward M. “Eddie” Flynn Jr., 40, was held June 5, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ledyard, Iowa, with Reverend Paul D. Bormann officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Buffalo Center, Iowa.
Garry-Roberts-Murphy-Schaaf Funeral Home, Bancroft, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
Edward Michael Flynn Jr. was born Sept. 20, 1967, in Winnebago, son of Edward Marcelles and Jennie Lee (Honken) Flynn. He grew up in rural Elmore graduating from North Kossuth High School, Swea City, Iowa in 1987.
Eddie enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards and other games. He also loved to bake and cook on the grill and he enjoyed his music, especially Elvis Presley. Eddie was a big Hawkeye fan, following both football and basketball. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ledyard.
Eddie M. Flynn Jr. died June 1, 2008, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center, Fairmont, at the age of 40. He had been a resident there since 1997.
He is survived by his parents, Edward and Jennie Flynn of Elmore; his brother, Stacy (Patty) Flynn of Lakota, Iowa; two nieces, Stephanie and Nicole Flynn of Elmore; his grandmother, Shirley Honken of Blue Earth; a sister-in-law Angelia Flynn of Elmore; one aunt and two uncles.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Leonard Honken; and paternal grandparents, Leo and Josephine Flynn.
