Ruth E. Peterson, 89

Mapleton — Ruth E. Peterson, age 89, of Mapleton, formerly of Amboy died Aug. 22, 2008, at the Mapleton Community Home, Mapleton.

Funeral services were held Aug. 28, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Amboy, Rev. Jean Sidner officiated. Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery at rural Amboy.

Spencer-Owen Funeral Home in Winnebago was in charge of arrangements.

She was born June 30, 1919, at Amboy, the daughter of Floyd and Margaret (Dobie) Riley.

She is survived by her husband: Vern Peterson of Amboy, son Mark Peterson of Amboy, daughter-in-law Susan Peterson Johnson of Blue Earth, sister Betty More of Blue Earth, brother Maurice (Eileen) Riley of Amboy, sisters-in-law Betty Pahl of Vernon Center, Shirley Peterson of Greeley, Colo.
