Gary Heetland, 61

Lakota, Iowa — Gary Heetland, 61, of Lakota, died Sept. 5, 2008, at Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona, Iowa.

Funeral services were held Sept. 9, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakota with Pastor Dona Stevens. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, Lakota, with military honors presented by the Lakota American Legion Post 652.

Winter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gary E. Heetland, son of Ronald and Gretchen (Rippentrop), was born Nov. 4, 1946, at Buffalo Center, Iowa.

Left to cherish his memory are his special friend Sue; his children, Annette (Douglas) Gunderson of Valencia, Calif. and Heidi (Jeff) Olson of Blue Earth; his mother Gretchen Heetland of Titonka, Iowa; one sister Kathy (John) Sunding of Kiester; one brother Bruce (Dawn) Heetland of Lakota.
