Francisco Geronimo Moreno Sr., 62

Mankato — Francisco Geronimo Moreno Sr., age 62, of Mankato, died Sept. 14, 2008, at Immanuel St. Joseph’s Hospital in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Sept. 19, 2008 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Reverend Mariano Valera, IVE officiating. Mankato Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Francisco was born May 11, 1946 in Laredo, Texas. He was the son of Pedro and Nasaria (Castillo) Moreno. Francisco served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 during the Viet Nam War. He was united in marriage to Maria Gloria Ramos on April 26, 1969 in Elmore. Francisco enjoyed cooking, horticulture, gardening and dancing.

Francisco is survived by his wife, Maria of Mankato; four sons, Jose Moreno of Mankato, Mario Moreno of Mankato, Francisco (Melanie) Moreno Jr. of Sleepy Eye, and Anthony Moreno of Mankato; three daughters, Monica Moreno, Carissa Moreno and Marisa Moreno, all of Mankato; daughter-in-law, Estela Moreno; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ricardo (Wanda) Moreno of Mineral Wells, Texas and Roberto (Theresa) Moreno of Leming, Texas; one sister, Estela Tupper of Elmore; also nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jose Luis Moreno Jr.; sister, Paula Cornelio; and nephew, Gerald Tupper.
