Berniece M. “Bea” Krieger, 80

Blue Earth — Berniece M. “Bea” Krieger, age 80, of Blue Earth, died Sept. 20, 2008, at Nicollet Place, in Blue Earth following a struggle with lung cancer. Funeral services were held Sept. 23, 2008, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. Mark Wilms officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Bea was born Sept. 16, 1928, at Parshall, N.D., the daughter of Ole and Anna (Erickson) Hanson. She was raised and educated in North Dakota and moved to Blue Earth following her marriage to Loren Krieger on Sept. 11, 1953 in Parshall. The couple farmed near Blue Earth for many years and Bea was a homemaker. She enjoyed almost any kind of crafting, enjoyed camping and especially loved family gatherings and events. She had a strong faith and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth for many years before moving, for a short time, to Trimont. She returned to Blue Earth in 1999 where she became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Bea is survived by her children, Karen (Daryl) Gossen of Blue Earth, Barbara (Norm) Eastvold of Spring Valley, Kayla (Ken) Moe of Springfield, Brenda Krieger of Monticello, Kevin (Margaret) Krieger of Blue Earth, Beth (Mike) Diekmann of Stewartville, her brothers, Richard Hanson of Garden City, Kan., Dennis Hanson of Jacksonville, Fla., her sister, Nyla Campbell of Warroad, grandchildren, Cady and Kirt (Ryen) Gossen, Trent and Eric Mathison (and fiancée Chelby Olson), Kristopher, Alex and Jessica Moe, Monica and Brian Krieger, Brandon, Zachary, Dillon, Justin and Ryley Diekmann and great grandchildren, James and Zoe Mathison and Jaiden Gossen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1981, brothers: Harold, Orville and Robert Hanson and sisters, Elvina Stringer and Shirley Allen.
