Blue Earth — Funeral services for Ronald G. Davids of Blue Earth were held Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 at Winter Funeral Home in Blue Earth at 10:30 a.m. Pastor David Langer officiated. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

Ronald G. Davids, son of Harm and Hazel (Sapp) Davids, was born May 13, 1945, in Buffalo Center, Iowa.

He graduated from Lakota High School and then attended business school in Des Moines for two years. In 1966, he was drafted and served in the United States Army. He went to Vietnam in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1968.

On Oct. 25, 1969, Ron married Rita Sonnek in Easton.

Ron worked as a farmer for many years. He loved nature and the outdoors was his church.

Ron passed away on Oct. 30, 2008, at United Hospital in Blue Earth at the age of 63.

He is survived by his wife Rita of Blue Earth; his son Jeff (Kris) of Frost; his granddaughter Abbi; his brother Harold (Karen) of Lakota, Iowa; his mother-in-law Veronica Sonnek of Wells; his nieces and nephews; his two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law, dear friends and by his cat Putz.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harm and Hazel and his father-in-law Louis Sonnek.
