Roy “Bud” Taylor, 93

Elmore — Roy (Bud) Taylor, age 93, of Elmore died Nov. 13, 2008, at his home in Elmore. Memorial services were held Nov. 15, 2008, at the Elmore Methodist Church where Roy was a member. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service assisted the family with the arrangements.

Roy was born Aug. 4, 1915, in Union township (Kossuth County), Iowa, to Jay and Edith (Bahling) Taylor. He moved as a young child with his family to what would become the family farm Northeast of Elmore. On Dec. 28, 1938, he married Cary Elizabeth Bruvold. The two farmed briefly in the Bricelyn area before moving back to the family farm near Elmore, where they continued to farm until they retired in 1980 and moved into town. Throughout his life Roy enjoyed fishing and working with horses. After his retirement he became an avid golfer.

Roy is survived by his wife Cary of Elmore, children Kathleen (Jerrald) Lloyd of Fairmont, Doris (Mark) Olson of Bloomington and Neil (Mary Jane) Taylor of Blue Earth, as well as eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His brother Harvey, sister Caroline Teems and granddaughter Karen Olson preceded him in death.
