Blue Earth — Helen I. Kliendl, age 89, of Blue Earth, died Jan. 12, 2009, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services were held Jan. 15, 2009, at Patton Funeral Home in Blue Earth. Rev. Karl Rydholm officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.

Helen Irene (Clark) Kliendl was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Rome Township of Faribault County to Annetta (Evans) Clark and William Clark. She attended country school until the 9th grade, then attended Blue Earth High School, graduating in 1936. At the age of 19 she went to Normal Teacher Training at Mankato State College. Helen taught county school for four years. On Oct. 17, 1942, Helen married Harold Donald Kliendl in Fairmont. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She has resided at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center since 2000.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (David) Killion of Wells, three grandchildren: Dan-iel Killion of Blue Earth, Bridget (Tim) Warmka of Oakdale, Paul (Tracie) Killion of Inver Grove Heights, seven great-grandchildren: Steven and Jonathan Killion, Katelyn, Joshua and Anna Warmka, and Kevin and Breann Killion. Also surviving are two sisters, Thelma Bromeland of Frost, Jean Rose of Rollingstone and three sisters-in-law: Helen Nelson of Albert Lea, Deloris Hillmer of Fairmont and Phyllis Kliendl of Blue Earth.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 2003, two sisters, Kathryn Holmseth, an infant sister, two brothers, William and DeVere Clark, four sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law.
