Larry A. Ehrich, 65
Elmore — Larry A. Ehrich, age 65, of Elmore, died Jan. 9, 2009, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester. Funeral services were held Jan. 12, 2009, at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. Rev. Robert Roettger officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
Larry was born June 9, 1943, in Blue Earth the son of Lawrence and Eleanor (Mensing) Ehrich. He was raised and educated in Elmore where he was a 1961 graduate of Elmore High School. He attended Mechanical Technical School in Mankato and returned to work for the Farmers Elevator in Elmore. He was married to Jan D. Thompson on Dec. 18, 1965, at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. Larry later worked for the Butler’s John Deere Implement in Elmore before starting Larry’s Small Engine Repair in 1983. Larry was a bus driver for the Elmore School District from 1982 to 1990 and had been a salesman with Napa Auto Parts prior to his retirement in the late 1990’s. Larry was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth but was a longtime member of Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore, where he had served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Elmore Fire and Rescue Department for over 20 years.
Larry is survived by his wife Jan Ehrich of Elmore, his son Jeff (Sharon) Ehrich of Green Isle, his daughter Nicole (Jeff) Hagedorn of Blue Earth, five grandchildren: Caleb, Tamara, Kyle, Teresa and Aaron, his brothers Duane (Joyce) Ehrich of Blue Earth and Loren (Cherrice) Ehrich of Lakota, Iowa, his sisters-in-law Mary Rich-ardson of Princeton, Mo., and Cyndy Kauffman of Muscatine, Iowa, his brother-in-law Philip (Leslie) Thompson of Edgerton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Earl and Gertrude Thompson and brothers-in-law, Le-Roy Richardson and Gail Kauffman.
