Mildred A. “Millie” Moore, 85
Blue Earth — Mildred A. “Millie” Moore, age 85, of Blue Earth, died March 18, 2009, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Mass of Christian Burial was held March 23, 2009, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Rev. Mark McNea and Rev. Jon Moore officiated and Bishop Jon Quinn presided. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth. Memorial donations will be directed to the Calvary Cemetery fund.
Millie was born Nov. 20, 1923, at a farm in Barber Township outside of Easton, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Sipple) Paul. She attended Mt. Carmel grade school, graduated from Wells Public School and the Wells Teachers Training program. She taught for two years before her marriage to Donald J. Moore on Sept. 1, 1943. The couple lived on the Moore home farm place for 48 years until Don’s death in 1991. The homeplace is now owned by Millie’s grandson, Jeffrey Moore.
Millie was a longtime member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was a religion teacher, member and officer of WCCW and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She also belonged to Homemakers Project Group for many years and was a longtime 4-H leader.
She is survived by five sons and two daughters: Bob (Carol) Moore of Blue Earth, Mary (Lawrence) Demeules of Maple Grove, Paul (Vicki) Moore of Glen Allen, Va., Fr. Jon Moore of St. Joseph’s Hermitage, Austin, Mark (Judy) Moore of Blue Earth, Monica (Dan) Danks of Fairmont, Brian (Alexis) Moore of Jackson, Wyo., 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen McCormick of St. Paul.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don in 1991, infant son, Bill, sister, Loretta Morrison, brothers Lt. Col. Fr. Harold Paul and Roland Paul.
