David Piggott, 48
David Piggott, 48, Stillwater, died Saturday, March 28, in the University of Minnesota Fairview Medical Center in Minneapolis, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1960, in Superior to Dale and Patricia (Whitacre) Piggott.
David graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1978; went on to receive his Bachelor degree in Political Science and Economics from the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1985; and received his Masters degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaFollette Institute in 1987.
David married Colleen Flaherty on June 7, 1986, in Superior, and they celebrated twenty-two years of marriage.
He held various jobs as an economic developer in Wisconsin, Minnesota and Virginia. He was currently employed as the Executive Director of Go Minnesota, Faribault County Development in Blue Earth.
David enjoyed reading, cooking, golfing and traveling with his family.
In addition to his wife Colleen, David is survived by two daughters, Claire and Grace, both of Stillwater; parents, Dale and Patricia Piggott, Superior; one sister, Sue (Bill) Strong, Superior; three brothers, Steve (Julie) Piggott, South Lake, Texas; Paul (Dawn) Piggott, Superior, Jim (Jennifer) Piggott, Longmont, Colo.; his in-laws, Tom and Phyllis Flaherty, Superior, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial was held April 3, 2009 in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Superior.
Should friends desire, memorials are preferred to be made to David’s family for an educational fund to be set up for David’s daughters.
