Luella E. Boettcher, 89
Blue Earth — Luella Boettcher, age 89, of Blue Earth, died April 13, 2009, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center. Funeral services were held April 17, 2009, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Elmore. Rev. Dale Kohrs officiated. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery, Elmore. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
Luella was born June 19, 1919, in Springfield Township, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Ida (Stenzel) Kuchenbecker. Luella was raised and educated in the Elmore area. Luella married Art Boettcher on April 9, 1939, the two lived in rural Blue Earth for many years before his death in 1993. Luella was a long time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Elmore and a Ladies Aid member. Luella loved fishing, collecting birds and sewing quilts and rugs. She enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends.
Luella is survived by her children, Marvin (Carol) Boettcher of Elmore, Marilyn (Bernard) Sweet of Rapidan, Mervil (Virginia) Boettcher of Alden, Maggie (Kenny) Nagel of Delavan, brother Gerhard (Mary) Kuchenbecker, brother-in-law Rudolph Cyphers, sister-in-law Mavis Boettcher, 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Melvin Boettcher, sisters Esther and Harold Mittelstadt, and Velma Cyphers, brothers Harold Kuchenbecker, and Walter and Lois Kuchenbecker, sister-in-law Mildred and William Kast, daughter-in-law Betty Boettcher, brothers-in-law Gerhard and Laura Boettcher and Raymond Boettcher.
