Douglas Hanevik, 63
Colorado Springs, Colo. — Former Blue Earth resident, Douglas Hanevik, age 63, passed away May 15, 2009, in Colorado Springs, Colo., from a lingering illness.
Doug and his wife Kay lived in Monument, Colo., since moving there in 1988. Doug was known for his unique sense of humor and being an avid fisherman. Up until his retirement, Doug was a trucker with BECO Trucking. His love for his family and grandchildren was his sole priority.
He is survived by his wife Kay, daughter, Michelle (Virgil) Burt of Monument, sons, Chad (Jenni) of Kanarado, Kan., Brent of Colorado Springs, Scott (Jessica) of Monument and Chris (Cynthia) of Monument. Nine grandchildren will be missing their grandpa: Eric, Erica, Mikenna, Sienna, Jenna, Lexi, Gavin, Ethan and Lauren. His brother, Ron (Pat) Hanevik of Blue Earth, sisters, Wanda (Rog) Samdal of Windom, Luann (Ross) Kempf of Blue Earth, and Paulette (Merle) Larsen of Blue Earth also survive. Sister-in-law Karen (Dale) Bleess of Blue Earth, many nieces and nephews are also grieved by this loss.
