Louis E. Meyer, 93
Blue Earth — Louis E. Meyer, age 93, of Blue Earth, died Aug. 19, 2009, at his home. Funeral services were held Aug. 22, 2009, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Rev. Brent Walker officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
Louis was born July 4, 1916, in Randolph, Neb., the son of Henry and Louise (Miller) Meyer. He was raised and educated in Randolph, where he graduated from Randolph High School. In 1936 he moved to California where he was married to Evelyn Coulter in Los Angeles on July 28, 1938. The couple moved to Blue Earth in 1944 and later to Frost in 1948 where Louis farmed. Evelyn died in 1970 and Louis was later married to Marlys Brenckman on Feb. 16, 1974 in Fairmont. They moved to Blue Earth in 1974 and he retired in 1977. Louis and Marlys enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and wintering in Florida for many years.
Louis is survived by his wife, Marlys Meyer of Blue Earth, children, Roger Meyer of Plymouth, Gary (Carrie) Meyer of Blue Earth, James (Diane) Meyer of Blue Earth, Thomas Meyer of Red Wing, Mike (Mary) Meyer of Fremont, Calif., Pat (Susan) Meyer of Blue Earth, Margaret (Ronald) Langford of Blue Earth, Joe (Muriel) Meyer of Blue Earth, his step-sons, Kim (RaeAnn) Brenckman of Eden Prairie, Joel (MaryAnn) Brenckman of Wilmar, and Bruce (Karla) Brenckman of Maple Grove, a sister-in-law, Vivian Laue of Blue Earth, 32 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, one nephew, and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Evelyn, brother, Robert Meyer, son, Alan Thomas Meyer and daughter, Mary Catherine Meyer.
