Douglas L. Vereide, 55

Polo, Ill. — Douglas L. Vereide, age 55, of Polo, Ill., died Sept. 18, 2009. Funeral services were held at the Polo Family Funeral Home in Polo on Sept. 23, 2009. Rev. Chuck Coggins officiated. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery, Polo.

The son of Walter and Marjorie (Brandt) Vereide, he was born Nov. 17, 1953, in Blue Earth. He married Karolyn Coggins on June 23, 1979. Doug was a long-time employee of Woods Equipment Company and most recently was self-employed as an electronics installer and worked for Prescotts Electronics in Sterling.

Survivors include his son, Dan Vereide of Sterling; sisters, Clara Vereide of Elmore, Carolyn (Terry) Bell of Bloomington; brothers Dean (Loree) Vereide of Blue Earth, Donald (Kelly) Vereide of Magnolia, Texas; one grandson, Brayden Vereide and several nieces and nephews.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents.
