Helen L. Oswald, 89
Elmore– Services for Helen L. (Stoufer) Oswald, age 89, of West St. Paul, formerly of Elmore, were held Oct. 28, 2009, at the Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel in Fairmont. Interment was in Fairview Memorial Park in Fairmont.
Helen passed away on Sat., Oct. 24, at the Southview Acres Care Center in St. Paul.
Helen was born on April 21, 1920, in Alpha, the daughter of Earl and Emma (Meister) Stoufer. She graduated from Sherburn High School in 1938.
Helen was united in marriage to Lawrence Osberg on October 29, 1939. They had four children. Lawrence passed away in August of 1955. Together they ran the Pan Pride Bakery in Elmore. On May 1, 1975, Helen was married to Maynard Oswald in Elmore. They lived in the Blue Earth/Fairmont area and moved to Stewartville in 1990, just prior to his death. Helen moved to Hastings in July of 2003 and lived at Oakridge Senior Community. In November of 2005, she moved to West St. Paul and lived at Southview Senior Community until the time of her death.
Left to cherish her memory are her oldest son, Dave (Dianne) Osberg of Rapid City, S.D., her youngest daughter Mary (Ken) Lee of Humboldt, Iowa, her youngest son John Osberg of Duluth and oldest daughter Suzanne Ristau of Inver Grove Heights and her fiance Jim Spurrier of Lakeville, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Emma Stoufer, husband, Lawrence Osberg, husband, Maynard Oswald, special friend, Jack Vaughn, three sisters, grandson, John Heetland, and nephews, Roger and Mike Pendergast. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
