James D. Fleming, Sr., 78

Blue Earth — James David Fleming, Sr., age 78, of Blue Earth, formerly of New Lenox, Ill., and Sarasota, Fla., died unexpectedly , Dec. 23, 2009, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Dec. 30, 2009, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Pastor Mark McNea officiated. Burial will be at a future date in Maplewood Cemetery, New Lenox. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.

Jim was born Dec. 9, 1931, at Blue Island, Ill., the son of David and Elizabeth (Berger) Fleming.

James is survived by his wife, Virginia (Ginny) Fleming, of Blue Earth, children James (Mary Ellen) Fleming, of North Mankato, Sarabeth (Gary) Maurisak, of Des Moines, Iowa, Sister John Mary Fleming O.P., of Nashville, Tenn., Kathleen (Thomas) Keenan, of Windsor, Conn., and five grandchildren.
