Reverend Sylvester Francis Brown, 79

Elysian — Reverend Sylvester Francis Brown, age 79 of Elysian, died on Jan. 6, 2010 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 11, 2010 at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato. The Most Reverend John M. Quinn, Celebrant, and brother priests concelebrated. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Arrangements were completed by Arnoldt-McRaith Funeral Home in Janesville.

Father Syl was born and raised in the All Saints’ Parish of Madison Lake.

He was pastor for St. Peter and Paul’s Parish in Blue Earth.

He is survived by his sister Marjorie Mountain of St. Paul.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Diocese of Winona-Seminarian Scholarship Fund at P.O. Box 588, Winona, MN 55987.
