Marie M. Marks, 86
Winnebago — Marie M. Marks, age 86, of Winnebago, formerly of Delavan, died Jan. 24, 2010, at United Hospital, Blue Earth. Memorial services were held Jan. 29, 2010, at Dikkers Hall in Parker Oaks, Winnebago. Rev. Wes Hafner officiated. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service assisted the family with the arrangements.
She was born April 18, 1923, at Jolley, Iowa, the daughter of Fred M. and Abby (Moberg) Yeager. She was raised and educated in Delavan where she graduated from Delavan High School in 1941. She was married to Harry H. Marks on Aug. 14, 1942 in San Diego, Calif. She was proud to be a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed reading many books and writing poetry. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Emerald Township where she was active in most all church activities. Marie loved to make everything grow, especially gardens, flowers, trees and people. She was a wonderful cook who made a new recipe most everyday and she was completely devoted to God through her faith.
Marie is survived by her husband, Harry Marks, of Winnebago, daughter, Judy (Don) Marben of Lake Crystal, son, John Marks (partner Pat McClain), of Palmetto, Fla., siblings, Roy (Jean) Yeager, of Blue Earth, Thomas Yeager, of Winnebago, Mary (Harold) Matteson, of Brownfield, Texas, Virginia Midthun of Lake Crystal, and Sally Yeager, of Winnebago, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, son, Alan Marks and brothers, Fred and James Yeager.
