Bernadine Swingdoff, 98

Blue Earth — Bernadine Swingdoff, age 98, of Blue Earth, formerly of Guckeen, died March 26, 2010, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services were held April 1, 2010, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. The Rev. Wesley Hafner officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service assisted the family with the arrangements.

Bernadine was born Nov. 14, 1911, at JoDavis Township, the daughter of John and Mary (Arndt) Swingdoff. She was raised and educated in Guckeen where she attended schools. Bernadine lived in the Guckeen area until 1960 when she moved to Blue Earth. She was a homemaker and spent many years caring for her parents and brother, John. She was an animal lover and had many pets on the family farm. She was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth.

Bernadine is survived by her nephew, DeWayne (Noreen) Hannaman, of Mankato; two grandnephews; and eight great-grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John and Richard Swingdoff; and a sister, Leona Hannaman.
