A. Rosella “Rosie” Plocker
Blue Earth — A. Rosella “Rosie” Plocker, of Blue Earth, died April 16, 2010, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth.
Memorial Services were held April 20, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Blue Earth. The Rev. Janet Crissinger-Clark and the Rev. Karl Rydholm officiated. Interment will be at a later date. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service assisted the family with the arrangements.
Rosie was born in Cottonwood, the daughter of Anton and Ronoug (Mittlestad) Lien. She was raised and educated in Cottonwood where she graduated from high school and then attended St. Cloud State University, earning her Associate Degree in education. She taught elementary school in Granite Falls where she met her future husband. She was married to John Plocker on Dec. 24, 1950, in Minneota. While John was in the military Rosie continued to teach school in Jacksonville, Fla., before the couple moved to Blue Earth in the mid 1950’s. Rosie was a homemaker and was active at First Presbyterian Church where she assisted with release time and coordinated meals-on-wheels for many years. She has participated in numerous school and community activities through the years and was caretaker of her large yard and garden. She was a true dog lover as well.
A. Rosella “Rosie” Plocker is survived by her husband, John Plocker, of Blue Earth; son, Tom (Becky) Plocker, of Blue Earth; grandchildren, Daniel and Steven Plocker; and her sister, Lila Roti, of Fulda.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rachel Knudson; and brothers, Arden and Victor Lien.
