James Williams, 81

Blue Earth — James Williams, age 81, of Blue Earth, died May 28, 2010, at Parkview Care Center, in Wells.

Funeral Services were held June 2, 2010, at Patton Funeral Home, in Blue Earth. The Rev. Arlon Lee officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth.

James was born on July 22, 1928, at St. James, the son of James Sr. and Lena (Klutz) Williams. James was raised and educated in St. James. James served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. During this time he married Mary Lou Calkins on May 4, 1952; the two were later divorced in 1976. James worked at Stokley Canning, in Fairmont and at Thermotech, in Hopkins. James moved to Blue Earth in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion for 56 years. He enjoyed gardening, animals and biking.

James Williams is survived by his son, Jonathan (Rita) Williams, of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Cindy (Rick) Libby, of Blue Earth; Barb Cooper, of St. Louis Park; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Harold “Mick” Williams, of Wayzata; sisters, Dorothy Firchau, of Madelia, Marilyn Fast, of Butterfield, and Millie Borgens, of Hill City.

James was preceded in death by his parents; former wife; daughter; Kay Ebeling; four brothers; and four sisters.

Memorials may be made out to Faribault County Humane Society.
