Wells — Kurt Clair Pearson, age 54, of Wells, died June 13, 2010, at his home.

Funeral Services were held June 16, 2010, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, in Easton. The Deacon Gene Paul officiated and burial was in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Barber Township, Faribault County. Arrangements by Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home, in Wells.

Kurt was born April 13, 1956, in Mankato, the son of Clair and Ruby (Schulz) Pearson. He grew up in the rural Wells area, and graduated from Minnesota Lake High School. He was employed by the Faribault County Highway Department and enjoyed his years operating the road grader. On May 28, 1977, he married Joline Kalis, in Easton.

Kurt was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in rural Minnesota Lake. He was a member of Heartland Pheasants Forever and Ducks Unlimited. He enjoyed hunting, fieldwork, gardening and took pride in maintaining his yard. His ultimate enjoyment was raising and releasing pheasants.

Kurt is survived by his wife, Joline; son, Travis (Ellen) Pearson, granddaughter, Christine, all of Dodge Center; daughter, Sally (Ryan) Strom, and grandchildren, Ashley and Logan, all of Bricelyn; his dad, Clair Pearson, of Wells; sister, Kelly (John) Sonnek, and niece and nephew, Nicole and Jacob, all of Wells; parents-in-law, Ray and Lois Kalis, of Wells; sister-in-law, Linda (Dennis) Johnson, of Minnetonka; brothers-in-law, Paul (Kathy) Kalis, Charlie (Peggy) Kalis, Troy (Sue) Kalis, all of Wells, and Marc (Kari) Kalis, of Lewiston. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Ruby Pearson; and brother-in-law, Andy Kalis.
