Jean Staloch, 85
Winnebago — Jean Staloch, age 85, of Winnebago, died on July 5, 2010, at her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held July 9, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Winnebago. The Rev. Mark McNea officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Winnebago. Spencer-Owen Funeral Home, Inc., was in charge of arrangements.
Jean Patricia Staloch was born at Meeker County on March 17, 1925, the daughter of Henry and Mary-Ellen (O’Keefe) McCormick. She was baptized and confirmed at Saint Anastasia Catholic Church, in Hutchinson. Jean graduated from Dassel High School in 1942. After High School, she worked at a poultry shop for a year. She moved to Mankato where she worked as a telephone operator. On April 8, 1947, she married John Staloch of Winnebago at Saint Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. They lived on the family farm north of Winnebago; John passed away on Jan. 30, 1997. They shared 49 years of marriage. Jean loved cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, music and taking bus trips to the Old Log Theater. She and her husband enjoyed vacations to California, Las Vegas, South Dakota, and South Padre Islands. They enjoyed going up north on fishing trips and trips to Wisconsin.
Jean’s first love was God and her church. She was an active member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church and Rosary Society until her health began failing. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family deeply. Blessed be her memory.
Jean is survived by her children, Mike Staloch, of Mankato, Margie Hanenberger, of Winnebago, Kathy Kuhns, of Mankato, Pete Staloch, of Mapleton, Teresa (Terry) Walters, of Mapleton, Bob Staloch, of Blue Earth, Mary Barker, of Winnebago, and Patty (Jason) Gullord, of Frost; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven brothers, Lawrence, Frances, Pete, Steve, James, Bernard and Donald, whom died in infancy; three sisters, Susan, Mae and Margaret.
