Darwin R. Peterson, 76
aVerona, Wis. — Darwin R. Peterson, age 76, passed away July 30, 2010, at his home in Verona surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services were held Aug. 5, 2010, at Asbury Methodist Church, in Madison, Wis. All Faiths Funeral Home, of Madison, assisted the family.
He was born at home May 1, 1934, in Blue Earth, the son of Orlo and Marian (Bergsetter) Peterson. Darwin graduated Valedictorian from Blue Earth High School in 1952. He served in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1957. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1958. He married Alice Manske on June 22, 1956 in Blue Earth; for 54 years. He worked in sales for 10 years before becoming a purchasing rep for Miles Laboratory in Elkhart, Ind. He then worked as Director of Purchasing for Rayovac Corp. for 15 years. Darwin was an avid reader, fisherman, coin collector and private pilot. He was also a Master Bridge Player. Together he loved traveling with his wife around the country and world.
Darwin is survived by his wife, Alice Peterson, of Verona; his children, Scott (Heidi) Peterson, of Bloomington, Randy (Janelle) Peterson, of Platteville, Wis., Jennifer (Scott) Faralli, of Madison; one brother, Boyd (Opal) Peterson, of Brownsburg, Ind.; three grandchildren, Nolan, Blake and Sydney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larold; and one grandson, Jonathan.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established in memory of Darwin.
