Anna “Annie” Sonnek, 84
Easton — Anna “Annie” Sonnek, age 84, of Easton, died Aug. 26, 2010, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, in Blue Earth.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was held Aug. 30, 2010, at Our Lady of Mt. Caramel Catholic Church, in Easton. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel officiated. Burial was at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, in rural Easton.
Olson-Tichenor Funeral Home, in Mapleton, was in charge of arrangements.
Annie was born on July 21, 1926, in Wells, to Vincent and Pelagia Dombrowski. On April 25, 1946, Annie was united in marriage to Willard Sonnek, in Wells. Together they farmed for many years. Annie worked at Stokely Canning, in Winnebago, the Easton Catholic School as a hot lunch cook, Electrocraft, in Winnebago, and she was a housekeeper at St. Luke’s, in Blue Earth, until retiring at the age of 75. Annie was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Caramel’s MCCW, quilting group, and card playing groups. She loved sewing, quilting, crocheting, cooking, canning, flowers, gardening, and playing cards. Annie enjoyed spending time with her family and having them over for dinners.
She is survived by her husband, Willard, of Easton; four sons, Len (Sue), of Delavan, Steve (Carol), of Cologne, Dan (Julie), of Mankato, and Mark (Donna), of Easton; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Victoria Bushlack, of Waseca; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Jason; and four sisters, Helen, Martha, Gertie, and Katie.
