Harold L. Richardson, 84
Oklahoma City, Okla. – Harold L. Richardson, age 84, formerly of Elmore, passed away Nov. 21, 2010, at the Oklahoma Veterans Home, in Norman, Okla., after battling heart and kidney failure.
Graveside services were held Nov. 27, 2010, at the Jones IOOF Cemetery, in Jones, Okla., and a Memorial Service is being planned for January 2011, in Elmore. Specific details will be announced later.
Harold was born on June 10, 1926, in Elmore Township, the son of Otis and Winifred (Johnson) Richardson. He was drafted during World War II and served in the Army, being stationed in Belgium and Germany for the duration of his tour. On Dec. 26, 1960, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Zachariason at the Little Brown Church, in Nashua, Iowa. They would have been married 50 years this year.
Harold was involved with trucking for over 50 years and logged mileage in excess of one million accident free miles during his career. He served as a city councilman for several years on the Elmore city council and was also a member of the Elmore Economic Development Authority. He was also an active member of the Elmore American Legion, Sanford Post 192.
Harold is survived by his wife, Dorothy, also of Oklahoma City; one sister, Nita Hannah?(Richardson), of Pine City; son, Mike (Jo), of Moore, Okla.; two granddaughters, Shannon Reimche, of Moore, and Rhiannon (Russell) Webb, of Tecumseh, Okla.; one grandson, Joshua Richardson, of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Isabel and Eva Webb, of Tecumseh.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lawrence.
