Robert Klingbeil, 78
Bricelyn – Robert Klingbeil, age 78, of Bricelyn, died Feb. 16, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Rochester.
Funeral Services were held Feb. 22, 2011, at Bricelyn Lutheran Church, in Bricelyn. The Rev. Ed Nieman officiated and burial was in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery, Seely Township, Faribault County.
Robert Merlin Klingbeil was born Aug. 23, 1932, to Silas and Hulda (Ryder) Klingbeil on the family farm northeast of Bricelyn. He was baptized and confirmed at Rice Lake Church, and graduated from Bricelyn High School in 1950. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from 1951-1954. On May 9, 1953, in Norfolk, Va., Bob was united in marriage to Lorna Peterson, from Emmons. They returned to Bricelyn in November of 1954. Bob worked as a truck driver and farm laborer. He served as County Commissioner from 1976-1992. In his retirement he really enjoyed checking out the area crops. He was a member of the American Legion for 56 years and served as past Commander. He was a huge Minnesota Vikings and New York Yankees fan.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lorna; children, Lori (Kurt) Scholomann, of Fairmont, Dan (MaryJo) Klingbeil, of Bricelyn, Mark (Cindy) Klingbeil, of Frost, ZoAnn (Mike) Peace, of Smithville, Mo.; his precious granddaughters, Alexandra, Bailey, Courtney and Jazlyn; seven step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Ordean (Carmen) Klingbeil and Janice (Jerry) Clementson; in-laws, Patricia Klingbeil, Jerry Peterson, Wendell (Edna) Peterson, Wyman (Hazel) Peterson and Sylvia Helgeland; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Marvin.
Everyone who knew Bob loved him. He was one of the good guys.
Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home, in Bricelyn, assisted the family with the arrangements.

Ambulance, Bricelyn Community club pool, fireworks funds or to the donor’s choice.
