Suzanne Hart

Las Vegas, Nev. – Suzanne Hart: Singer, Actress, Mother, Teacher, Susan Linda Hartwick was born Aug. 2, 1947, in Fairmont, the daughter of George B. and Lillian L. (Hamelau) Hartwick. She died on Oct. 14, 2010, in Las Vegas. She attended school in Blue Earth. She went to Concordia College for one year and toured with Paul?Christianson Choir. She finished college at Moorhead State University.

In Las Vegas, Nev., she did substitute teaching in Music, English and German at Nellis Air Force Base, The Junior Academy and UNLV.

She began singing at MGM becoming a principal in her second year and opened the show “Hallelujah Hollywood” for seven years and for the following new show “Jubilee” for four years.

She married Joel Dennis in 1979; she retired from MGM in 1982, and in 1983 gave birth to a baby girl, Angelina Raquel.

She sang in many operas in Las Vegas with the Las Vegas Opera Theatre, she toured with the Myron Heaton Choral Group and sang in many Cathedrals in Europe and at the Vatican. She and daughter Angelina shared their singing and acting talents in many community events also.

Susan taught art for 10 years at the Henderson International Private School and retired in 2010. She shared her talents and love of people with many. Had she lived another month she would have appeared in “Cinderella” as the Fairy Godmother in a community production.

She is survived by her daughter, Angelina Raquel; her mother, Lillian L. (Hamelau) Hartwick, Blue Earth; brothers, David (Barbara) Hartwick, of Chanhassen, George C. (Carolyn)?Hartwick, of Dayton, Texas; sister, Barbara J. (James) Martin, of Delavan; nieces, Jillayne (James) Hughes, of Broomfield, Colo., Caroline (Travis) Anderson, of Eden Prairie, Eva (James) Dregger, of Atlanta, Ga., Noelle (Scott) Bohling, of Delavan, and Sara Hartwick, of Chanhassen; and nephew, Sam Hartwick, of Chanhassen.

She was preceded in death by her father, George B. Hartwick; and sister, Judith Dianne, who was also a victim of cancer in 2005.

A Memorial Service was held Oct. 19, 2010, at Palm Mortuary – Jones, in Las Vegas. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Blue Earth.
