Fairmont – Services for Cecelia A. Wolter, age 95, of Fairmont were held March 22, 2011, at the Lakeview Funeral Home, in Fairmont. Burial was in Center Creek?Cemetery, near Granada.

The Lakeview Funeral Home of Fairmont assisted the family with the arrangements.

Cecelia passed away March 18, 2011, at the St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center, in?Blue Earth.

Cecelia Anna (Ziemer) Wolter was born July 29, 1915, on a farm east of Huntington, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Anna (Linke) Ziemer. Cecelia attended country school and later Fairmont High School. In 1931, she moved with her family to Granada where she graduated high school in 1934.

On Nov. 8, 1936, Cecelia was united in marriage to Lloyd Wolter at the Methodist Parsonage in Winnebago. Together the couple made their home in Granada where they were blessed with three daughters, Marlys, Ginny and Bev.

Church was very important to Cecelia as was evident by the fact that she was a very active member of the Granada United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School, was the Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the adult choir and directed the choir. When not involved with a church activity, Cecelia enjoyed gardening and crocheting. Family was very important to Cecelia. She looked forward to attending family functions and babysitting grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Cecelia worked for a short time outside of the home but treasured the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and be there with her daughters. In 1993, Cecelia and Lloyd moved to Fairmont. Lloyd passed away in 1994. In 2001, Cecelia moved to the St. Luke’s Assisted Living, in Blue Earth, to be closer to her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Marlys (Ken) Breen, of Blue Earth, and Ginny Evan, of Blue Earth; nine grandchildren, Rick (Cheri) Evan, Roni Evan, Robin (Jamie) Smith, Roxanne (David) Robertson, Rayne (Randy) Hanevik, Sheri (Van Schlegel) Howard, Steve (Renee) Howard, Shelley (Denny) Junkermeier, and Stacy (Bekki) Howard; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Zella Butcher, of St. Michaels, Irene Ziemer, of Fairmont, and Thelma Gerdes, of Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Cecelia is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Ziemer; husband, Lloyd; daughter, Bev Cramer; two great-grandsons, Jamis Smith and Justin Evan; eight siblings; and in-laws.
